Are we still saying “Happy New Year”? Well, here, we’ll be saying it until March, haha!
Its been a while since I last shared a blog and boy, have I missed it. I am grateful we have made it into 2025, so let’s kick off the year with a short recap of January, shall we?
1. A Milestone in Marriage.
On January 7th, Steve and I celebrated 8 years of marriage, and honestly, I can’t believe how far we’ve come. To mark the occasion, we went on a two-day staycation, and it was a much-needed breath of fresh air. One thing I’ve learned over the years is this: any marriage that’s thriving, someone is putting in the work. We took the time to go through the Marriage Health Check Tool, assess the state of our relationship, and plan for the future of our family. If you’re looking to start the year on the right foot, these tools are definitely worth using:
2. January Surprises
I started the year hoping to ease into it and take things slow, but work has been flowing in, and I’m truly grateful. You know how we subconsciously believe that January is always a dry month financially? Well, God had other plans for me. What a God! I pray that we continue to trust Him and His guidance over our lives. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
3. Reign Turns 5
Our baby girl, Reign, turned 5 this month, and I’m in awe of how much she’s grown. She’s a music lover, a dancer, and a naturally creative spirit. I see so much of myself in her . She wore her birthday dress and princess wings, woke us up from our afternoon nap, and was ready to cut her cake with her cousins. When we asked what she wanted for her birthday, she simply said she wanted a Mickey Mouse cake to share with her favorite cousins. It’s such a reminder of how simple and beautiful life can be through the eyes of a child.
4.My Word for 2025 :“Focus on God”
This year, I feel led to focus on God and His kingdom more than ever before. My word for 2025 is: Focus on God. I’ve felt God directing me to really pour into my faith through service, devotion, and every decision I make. When I designed my Vision Board, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace seeing how God will move in the months ahead. Do you have a word for the year yet? I’d love to hear it!
